All the information on how you can take part is on this website.
The event has grown enormously since I started it in 2002 as a response to the Foot & Mouth crisis. It is now firmly established on the national, retail, catering and school calendar as the definitive celebration of the diverse and delicious range of food available in this country and the health benefits - and pleasures - of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regionally distinct produce. Over 40 organisations are involved and HRH The Prince of Wales is giving us his support. For schools there are ideas for cooking and food-related activities for each curriculum subject for early years, primary and secondary children. For shops, pubs and restaurants there is advice and case studies on sourcing and promoting regional food and sample regional menus. And for those who want to eat out, cook in and generally indulge in the best our country has to offer there is information about events taking place across the country and fun recipe ideas. Over the two weeks there will be more opportunities than ever to enjoy the diverse and delicious food that Britain produces. So, whoever you are and wherever you live, choose it, cook it and enjoy British Food Fortnight! |
